Reinstatement Tribunals / Committees

After WWII such bodies were set up to help ex-servicemen get their old jobs back. I know there was one in Leeds, one in Hackney (London), and one in Birmingham for example. I would like to get access to the archives of the Hackney Tribunal for 1946. I have asked the Hackney Archives but they could not find anything. I wondered whether anyone here might have some knowledge of how these tribunals worked and where their records might be kept, please.

One assumes you have googled?

Indeed, I didn't find anything (in the first ten pages or so) which seemed helpful but there are others here who have more success with searches (particularly with newspapers ;-)) than I do.

I also tried a search at the National Archives for "reinstatement" which didn't turn up anything useful either.

Maybe there's something in TNA after all, just goes to show that searches don't always reveal everything. A bit more digging produced this:

Umpire's decisions in appeals relating to reinstatement in civil employment are in LAB 78

This didn't turn up in a search for reinstatement!

The records are not digitised so a manual search is required, about a month, we'll see what they find.
