That 'info' on the Ancestry tree is total nonsense IMO.
I looked at it earlier and almost fell for it, but dismissed it when I noticed that the record of the death in USA connected to a Francis (Male)

The fact that Frances's birth wasn't registered until nearly 11 years after the birth makes one wonder how reliable the birth cert info will be.

Her forenames certainly suggest Irish heritage....................

No help -
but a lesson in why one should never assume anything on someone else's tree is correct . (I'm not suggesting that's what you've done.)

A tree on Ancestry (tree owner called malcnixon)says Frances's father was Howard John Monaghan (no dates or birthplace), and her mother was Mary Ellen (no surname, no DOB) who died 24/11/1957 at Kensal Rise, Middlesex.

There's some inconsistent suggestion on the tree that either or both parents were born in Ireland - unspecified and unproven.


BUT -

there's no "proof" offered of anything except Mary Ellen's death - and that's INCORRECT.

The date of Mary Ellen's death has been taken from this below - clearly a different person. Different maiden name, different husband, different children, died in USA (not Kensal Rise):

Frances should be on the 1939 register..........but isn't, as far as I can determine, having even searched using only her forename and birth month/year

To find out her parents' names, you will have to get a copy of her birth cert, using the 1942 info when you fill in the application form

The 1931 birth was actually registered in 1942, as indicated by the M'42 on the 1931 enrty, which, incidentally, is not on the official GRO site. It is ONLY on freebmd as a retrospective

how do you know she was born in paddington, only married there

its my partners mother that we are trying to trace. we have found her parents marriage registry but cant find nothing on her mother as an individual.

Where are you searching for the information?

When/where the events happened may make a difference to the information available.

Maybe the record has been mistranscribed if the gro image is difficult to read

You only need one name though if you want to get the marriage cert
