I have a couple who are married to each other the male is my 1x2 cousin his wife id my 2x1 cousin now according to ancestry their children are my 2 nd cousins but 1 they have her as my 3rd cousin can some one explain please have ancestry got it wrong |

Ancestry haven’t actually got it wrong. They use the number of cms to work out the relationship but we don’t inherit an equal amount. So you have a lower cm match against them than the average. It is especially difficult with ‘removed’. |

My brother has also had his done the results are quite different. I’m on my iPad but on my computer I have a chart which shows a huge difference in cms against the same relation. |
