MH DNA region tweaks

My Heritage have tweaked the DNA match regions recently.

Before I was

85% NW European
14% Scottish/Welsh/Irish (I have Scots in my family tree)
1% Nigerian- eh?
0% English

Now I'm

55% Scottish/Welsh
44% English - NW particularly mentioned
1% Breton

Maybe a better description of my ancestry, of whom many came from N Lancs / S Westmorland

Glad to see the Irish and Nigerians gone.

Thanks Grannyfranny, must take a look.

Interesting how you’ve gone from 0% to44%English.

Don’t worry about the tiny amounts - they are usually from the very distant past.

Well that was interesting. Not seen a change since 2021 and this was soooo diferent. Good thing I am not reliant on just one companies results.

Ancestry have jusr discovered the Channel Islands, MH has, I think , called that Breton, Dutch maybe & French. Ancestry dropped my tiny drop of Basque, MH has upped it. I'm almost as Scots/Welsh as I am English on M H. Ancestry S/W 15% , MH 26.1% - maybe MH have stuck some of myIrish ancestry in there.

Grannyfranny - did you do the autoclusters? I have no idea who anyone is on the main group on there. Not really surprising as I have real problems dropping on those matches to my own tree. Which is probably down to having almost no known relatives on MH - they are all on Ancestry..

Gone to rest my brain

Names, you jogged my brain and I've downloaded a new autocluster and deleted the old ones. I should have done this sooner as I have a number of new front page matches. But having checked the clusters with 'knowns', the unknowns are still that, as there are no trees to check with.

I found a few rellies in my DNA matches, no one I actually knew, but I knew where they were in my family tree, and sometimes knew mutual other rellies. But some of my closest matches are a surprise, they have 'unknowns' in their trees, or illegitimate lines, so I can only assume that they are our rellies in common.
