Looking for information on Margaret Richardson MCGREGOR born 8 Dec 1816 in Paisley, Scotland. Her parents were Thomas MCGREGOR & Martha MCFARLANE. The family lived on Moss Street from abt. 1817 to 1861. On a Poor Laws Statement from 1841 Margaret is list as 23 and not living with parent. Martha according to this statement died in Paisley in 1832. Family members on statement Thomas 51 years (1790), William 20 (1821), Thomas 15 (1826) and John 11 (1829). All born in Pasiley. Missing from statement are Marion Pringle MCGREGOR born 1818 and Thomas MCGREGOR born 1823. I have been able to follow William and John until their deaths but not anyone else in this family. Thank you everyone. Yes, I have used Scotland's People for many records but have not found any pertaining to Margaret, Marion or Thomas.

Which ‘Thomas’?

Father? Or one of the two sons given the name……….

Thomas junior (1826) -

In 1841 he's with his father and brothers William and John, at Moss Street, and in 1851 he's with his brother William, again at Moss Street.

I don't see any definite sign of him after that - but again, it's a very common name.

William married in April 1851, just a few days after the census was taken, and moved away from Moss Street.

This man was approx the right age at death - but credits would need to be spent to see the cert. - and I don't expect he's the right man, unless he'd somehow managed to avoid appearing on any censuses after 1851:

Original post refers to two Thomases. One recorded as being 15 in 1841 and one born 1823. Unlikely that the one born 1823 survived……..as per my post 8 Apr 12.23
