Unlikely you would have found anything at the church - parish registers that old are usually with the county records office. nell

Many thanks for your ideas, The annoying thing is, at the weekend I was only 5 miles or so from where 'my' Ann was living, but did not realise that until i got home and looked things up. Grrrrrr Grrrrr, If I had gone out a few hours earlier maybe I could have visited the church and looked things up for myself. Kathlyn

My tree has three William Broomfields, all married to Charlottes who are all of child-bearing age at the same time, within a few miles of each other. It happens. It is also possible that first child died, family moved and second child named after a dead sister. You really need to look at the films: to see whether there are any additional clues or telltale burials.

Yes, I'd say so. I have tons of Williams and Sarahs and Anns. Not unusual names at all. nell

I have been looking on familysearch for my 2xg grandmother`s birth and have found this anomaly, your commenct will be very much appreciated:- 1) Ann Woodland Christened 2nd July 1790 at Abbey, St. Albans, Herts Father:- William Mother:- Sarah 2) Ann Woodland Born 13th March 1793, Christened 17th June 1796 at Millbrook, Beds Father:- William Mother:- Sarah. Number (2) place of happenings are right for 'my' Ann, being only 2/3 miles from where she declared she was born on various census, Is it just a coincidence that there were two Ann, William and Sarah`s????
