Sorry, didn't realise that you meant family in USA. I have no idea where you would find copies of newspapers in America. You could add another post, asking for help from someone in America, putting 'America' in your title. Kath. x

I know what you mean. It was a sad time.

A lot of people at the time committed suicide by throwing themselves from skyscrapers. Many magazines and newspapers carried jokes and cartoons about them. I never understood how people could laugh about something so terrible.

Hi Kathleen They would have been living in America. Is there a web site I could check for deaths in America?

If you know where the family were living in 1929 when the crash happened, then you could check the local newspaper's for the area (filmed copies will be at the local library), as I'm sure in those days that a suicide would be reported in the local papers. Kath. x

I was just looking through the information I have collected over the years from members of my family to see if there was anything I could check out that I hadnt already. I found a couple of pieces of papers from aunts saying that a member of our family died during the Wall street crash (they all say he commited suicide), none of these aunties seem to remember this relatives name. Over time I know stories can be exagerated but I would still like to check this out. Is there anyway I can do this. Thankyou
