One day this local chap walks into what wa my local at the time.He had worked on various estates round the country,as a heating engineer, and had met Princess Anne on one occasion in a farmhouse kitchen whilst having his tea break- !! Any road up,one job he will always remember was in a posh part of Liverpool.....the house had been bought by the blonde actor bloke in Peak Practice (one of the doctors)....... They set about improving the property with new plumbing and electrics....two of them doing most of the work. They started lifting up the floorboards and something was obstructing the joists underneath.........a briefcase !! They opened it up and inside was a stonking great wad of old white fivers !!! Added to that hundreds of gold sovereigns !!......they reckon that the old occupiers had stashed them away in the 1920's or such to avoid death duties or something, and the secret had died with them..... The strangest discovery though was yet to come.....whilst the electrician was trying to feed some wires through,he caught hold of a piece of rope........he pulled on the rope and found it was attached to a very old bottle of malt whisky.......but the rope continued..........another bottle attached..........and again......another bottle..........WTF????!!.......there were 48 bottles all told linked to each other.........!!!

they came clean and the actor chappie gave them £500 each- a party was held afterwardsand he found out that the fivrs alone were worth £20k and the haul was worth something like 40K in all-he took it as an insult and at the party he punched the actor in the face in front of his father- apparently when the father heard about how mean his son had been ,he said fair enough !!

Pity he didn't say, ''Fair enough'' AND ''Son, give 'em half'' Merry
