Popped over to my Grandma's house to check she was OK, and she told me she had finally found the key (for a jewelery box, the key has been missing for about 2 years) and inside were the death certs for my g grandparents. I knew when they died cos of the gravestone but it was nice to put them with the rest of the family so to speak,

Oooh, well done (and to grandma!) I have a wooden writing box here that has locked itself and I don't have a key! I really must take it to the locksmith to see if they can open it......I can hear all these things inside......I am putting it off, because I know there's just a lot of rubbish in it, but whilst it's still closed, I can dream............!!! Wow! Congratulations, Tom! A real find - if with sad overtones. Christine

I know, sometimes we forget that we are dealing with people - and that's why I like to find out the info about their lives - not just when they died - but where they did, what they did, and I like to visit places they used to live. I try to make it so they are people rather than just names. :-)

Whats more - on closer inspection on the back of one from 1969, there is stuff to do with insurance - looks like they got £18.16 when she died.
