what this means----------some time last year i was talking to a great aunt about when her mother married, because she married in another county and not her own,she said that her mother said about the horse and carriage that took her to church that there was a wheel in each county! does anyone know what she meant? and another one, someone asked her many years ago 'how can i stop having babies gran?' she said: keep talking! the only thing i can think of is, if you keep talking it will put him off what he is doing!!!!!!ha,ha. what do others think?

Which county did she live in? Maybe she lived on the border where four counties join and married in the next parish? That way she could have had 'a wheel in each county'? Some of mine lived in a village which was only a couple of miles from three different counties.

Or, more simply the carriage might have been one with only two wheels, so it need only have been on a simple county boundary - where the road was the boundary, perhaps. Christine

Hi Me I met an uncle from Australia last year. On his way over here he went to visit some friends in America. He showed us the photos he had taken while he was there and there was one were he was standing in 4 counties at once. I cant remember were in America it was. I do remember that another photo he showed us was were they had made some cowboy film. I wil try and find out were it was.Hope this helps.
