I dont know why but have looked on 1837 and ancestry but cannot find The births of a Susan Joel C1842 Whitechapel and a Miriam Rose C1870 Stepney and any of her siblings Lydia Rose C 1872 Islington Cordelia Rose C1874 islington Arthur Rose C 1865 Whitechapel. I can only find Alfred C1861 Whitechapel Charles C1866 Whitechapel John C1869 I dont mind care which one you can find any would be good thanks

Ancestry civil reg is the same as Freebmd and the bmds on the beta list are the same GRO indexes as 1837. How accurate are the dates, have you checked a few years either way, checked the bottom of the page where additions are often put in later, and also just surnames with 'male' or 'female'? nell

Would need to find the Critical Dates thread - but I rather think that all those were before it became an offence not to register. They may not have been registered. You may have to look for baptism records. sorry! Christine

thanks for replies yes I did all that and I always put a few years either way just in case, they are on each census with more or less the same info , I am wondering if they used second names and not their first names thanks for you replies will try another time

Possible for Cordelia in 1874.. Births Sep 1874 Rose Female Islington 1b 403 Could Lydia be a second name? Births Sep 1872 Rose Alice Lydia Islington 1b 282 Georgina.

This is the only birth I can find at the right time for Miriam Rose:- Miriam Rose, Sept. qtr. 1869, Wellingbro', 3b, 125 Kath. x

yes Issaac died quite young I did find him thanks ,That looks like Charles thanks so much dont worry about any more ,I really appreciate it thanks so much this family have given me a brain ache.
