Olde Crone we thought it might be James but def Turris very clear BUT have just googled and got the following Turris - the Finnish & Estonian god of war - the word meaning Huge, Evil, Strong & dreadful person..............wish I never bothered will stick with the Italian suggestion Norah |

Just a thought, and probably not relevant, but I once found a 'Tummis'. After faffing around thinking this was a peculiar way of spelling Thomas, I looked at the original....it was JAMES!(Do it in curly wurly writing and you'll see why) Olde Crone |

If you're looking at old script, it's often worth getting another opinion. Otherwise people often used surnames as first names. Neother of those remarks precludes it being [a] just as you've stated it and [b] italian. Christine |
