Hi Yes I do have that census information the gentleman Hugh is the son that was born in 1827. For this census as well as all wedding and death cert. it list the family as be prebyterian or united. Which I read somewhere they in Scotland they are the same? There is a family that is Andrew Young married a Mary Jackson and had children all with almost the same names but all different dates and since I have the death cert. for Hugh and dates from stone for another I am sure she isnt the Mary I am missing. Hi Bev, There's nothing showing up for this family at all in any OPRs. The family may not have been Church of Scotland. It is only the C of S OPRs that are on SP. All other church records are held at NAS. 'The National Archives of Scotland' They are searchable, but as far as I know, in person only. Sorry. Liz |

I know what you mean Bev. There seem to be a lot fewer [especially free] sites where you can look up your Scottish rellies. I have just spent 30 quid in 2 days looking on scotlands people, and half of the certs I looked weren't even mine! Time to begin a new thread: best sites for Scotties?? Anyone want to begin it? |

I will gladly give it.....:) Andrew Young b: March or April 1780 Scotland married Mary ?(unknown maiden name) b: 1805 ish Scotland children Hugh Young b: 1827 Scotland John Young b: 1831 or 1836 Scotland Agnes Young b: 1832 Scotland Margaret Young b: 1833 or 1834 The family left Scotland between 1836 - 1838 landed in New Brunswick were the first of three more children were born. The moved into Ontario. It was told by family members over the many years that the family was shipwrecked or stranded just off the coast of Canada but managed to save pretty much all their belongings. Andrew was a farmer in Ontario and in the family cemetery area there are two other names that do not fit or I am not a ware of if they are nephews, brothers or cousings of Andrew. Their names are Thomas Young born in 1821 & William Young date death no age or year he was born. Any help or information ideas? all welcome Bev |

Hi thank you for both sites....I will try them as well. And yes there are people from Scotland but thought I would also try right in Scotland to see if my brick wall can come down....:) I have been looking for almost 12 years for the link from Canada back into Scotland and I am getting frustrated again and again. People on the different chat boards have tried so hard but still nothing. Bev |
