Hi Catherine It seems they were in the Worsted spinner and weaver aspect of the mills, in 1891 have found them into Cashmere weaving so they have really branched out Sue PS any info on these professions?

Hi Susan, Bradford had a lot of woollen mills, so probably your ancestor worked at a job in a mill. Cath .

Hi, I googled it, it means splitting the sheeps wool into 'slivers' thin bits - I guess before being used for spinning.
