How can I decide which of these Katerines are is the Katherine marrying James Hope Drummond. I have been wizzing around the uk, via the net, and can only find a definate marriage for these two, could I have made a break through and found Kats birth? You should be able to get a copy of the marriage register entry for the marriage. You may get some clues from the names of the witnesses? Christine

There are a few miles between Inverness and Wiltshire, and neither are exactly next door to St Pancras. There will be lots of Katherine Sages whose baptisms are not recorded, or whose details do not appear on the IGI. Does she die before 1837? Where are her children born? Do they appear on any census? What is her husband's occupation? - this will be on the children's baptisms. If you can find her in 1841, you will get a rough idea of when she was born. If you can find her in 1851 that would help you on where she was born. A death certificate may provide a slightly more accurate age. People came up to London from all over the place. Without some extra clues you may easily follow someone who is no relation.

Do you know Katherine's condition at marriage? If not, then Sage might not be her maiden name :o(( Merry

Perhaps obvious to some, but not to others, Drummond is a Scottish surname. Just a thought. Denis.

James Hope Drummond & Katherine had at least 1 child WILLIAM JAMES DRUMMOND Male Event(s): Birth: 25 FEB 1821 Christening: 15 MAY 1825 Old Church, Saint Pancras, London, England Parents: Father: JAMES HOPE DRUMMOND Mother: CATHERINE He was Christened in St Pancras but it dosen't say where he was born. on the 1841 census there are 2 possibles for William the first with a father James who was born in Scotland..
