I have several ancesters who were born in Clerkenwell, St Sepulchre c 1800-1830's Can anyone tell me where I would need to go or who to contact to find baptism information for this district of London. I am a novice at this so any advice would be welcome. Many thanks Sue

You cant be that much of a novice to have got back 200 years! Have you tried the IGI?

I'm pretty sure that St. Sepulchre is on the IGI for that period, because some in-laws of mine are on there. It is on FamilySearch at www.familysearch.org (unless it is a different St. Sepulchre, of course!) Kate.

I'm ok at searching census records online, but haven't up to this point had to search church records so am not sure how to go about it. I have also had some help from family with the info I have gathered. Sue

LMA have the records for Clerkenwell. They have a good search facility on their site as well, You can find the index number of the film/s before you visit, and the films are easy to find when you get there as well. Tip : take plenty of change for the film printer or buy a card when you get there. Also you may be able to visit the church you relatives were married/baptised in as there are a few quite near the LMA http://www.cityoflondon.gov(.)uk/corporation/family-research/registerSearchForm.asp Fred
