A mantle was a cloak, so she may have made them rather than dresses. Kath. x

Thank you very much, Joyce, it looks like dress making is in my Mum's family, as that's the 2nd one we've found as well as a milliner. It explains why Mum is so good at it, it's in the genes! Lynn : )

Hi Lynn Mary A Rennie is a Mantle Maker and her son (Wm Hy Rennie) is an Errand Boy. Younger son Ernest Jn Rennie is a Scholar. Cheers Richard
