I have this christening record: SARAH DONINGTON Female -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Event(s): Birth: Christening: 03 MAR 1785 Anderby, Lincoln, England Death: Burial: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parents: Father: EDWD. DONINGTON Family Mother: SUSANNAH -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Messages: Extracted birth or christening record for the locality listed in the record. The source records are usually arranged chronologically by the birth or christening date and looking at the IGI, the only possibility for the parents amrriage I can see is this one: EDWD DUNNINGTON Male Family -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Event(s): Birth: Christening: Death: Burial: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriages: Spouse: SUSA BEMROSE Family Marriage: 22 MAY 1783 Alford, Lincoln, England -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Messages: Extracted marriage record for locality listed in the record. The source records are usually arranged chronologically by the marriage date Looking at the AA route planner, the two places are about five miles apart - my only question is: could Susannah be written as Susa, or vice-a-versa? Thanks. |

I'd have siad it was 'highly likely' have you managed to get them on 1841 - is that where susa comes from |

I think its quite likely they are the same... Susa could well be that particular vicar's abbreviation for Susannah. It might be in the actual register as Susn or something similar & been mistranscribed? |

that's what I was hoping you would all say. The Susannah comes from the christening record, but Susa comes from the marriage record. jess - Don;t have them on the 1841 - they must have died by then. :-( |
