Yes i suppose it is a poosibility, one that i never thought of before, as i have MI for the Sutherlands and Jean is recorded as Jean Imrie but then these where commissioned after death weren't they so might not be accurate |

Debbie I have exactly the same problem my GGG grandparents christened their 3 sons and 1 daughter but never bothered with my GG grandmother who was their second youngest. There is a couple of birth's for a Jean Imrie in Perth but I would be thinking along the same lines as you about Peter & Ann being her parents. It is so frustrating. Georgina. |

No the Lilias on the census is Lilias Imrie, unmarried , independant, age 70. It all points to Peter and Ann as parents, and Jean naming a daughter after her sister, i just would rather not go down this path on assumption only, why would they christen 4 children but not a 5th. |

Lilias Imery christened Oct 1767, is the Lilias on the 1841 census living with Angus Sutherland and some of his children. I believe her to be Jeans sister, though there is quite a gap between the births. |

Help please! I have been trying to find a birth record for my 4xgreat gran Jean Imrie with no luck. She died in 1835 but her husband is living with Lilias Imrie on the 1841 census, i am assuming her to be his sister-in-law. I have found a birth record for this Lilias Imrie and it gives parents as Peter and Ann. Jean Imrie 2nd oldest son was Peter and oldest daughter was Ann, so this all points to Peter and Ann Imrie being Jeans parents. However, i can find a record of Peter and Ann marriage and birth record for 4 children but still none for Jean. I believe Peter and Ann to be Jeans parents but then why can i not find her birth record ? Does anyone else have any ideas ? |
