You need a name unless on 1881, but then you can check the images for address. It can be time consuming. If you give us a bit more detail of who / where you are looking, we can give it a go. Margaret

I'm trying to find out who lived at Lone Barn Farm, in Orpington, Kent in the 1901 Census. My Great Grandad lived there in 1915 and I'm trying to find out more information on him. Barbara

You can search the 1901 by address at the PRO site (now run by GR). It's pay per view though. The 1861 and 1891 are searchable by address at 1837online. Again, pay per view. RIchard

If you google 'Lone Barn Farm Orpington' you get quite a few hits about the place. Suzanne

Hi Barbara I've searched for an address by using the 1901 site. If you click on the image icon, although you cannot see the image itself without paying, it will give you the reference. I've then used this to search on Ancestry. Regards Fran

Hi - me again. I've just found Lone Barn using this method. It seems to have two large families of Bassestts and Banfields living there. Best Fran

I have had a quick look on Ancestry....1901....District 8 at the end of the enumerators list is Lone Barn..............had a look and am unable to see the farm BUT did find quote..... 'Huts and Tents at Lone Barn, East Hall' Also some people living in a Caravan It was on the last pages of the district 8....hope that this helps.......I will have a closer look when I have some more time. Gill

Thank you all for your replies, I thought that was my Great Grandads farm but my great Nan was a Bassett so its her side of the family.

Hi, The 1901 Census Online gives RG13 - 692 - Folio 14 -Page 19 for Lone Barn Farm, Orpington If you enter that into Ancestry 1901search you get the following families Childs, Merch, Morgan, Lynds, Austin,Yeaters and the others mentioned earlier. How you narrow this down I don't know. Cheers Paul
