I wondered if soldiers who died in service were listed somewhere different than the county registers. I have a soldier who must have died between 1853 and 1860. I know his wife remarried in 1860 and was a widow at that time. I can't find the death of her hubby anywhere! So I'm presuming he died in another country. Any ideas as to where to look for him? Thankyou, Sue |

one other thought -he might not have died - have you tried finding him later on? His 'widow' may have pretended he was dead to remarry. Alternatively he may have been missing and presumed dead after a decent interval. nell |

Thanks Reggie and Helen I'll try both your ideas, never thought of him maybe not being dead at the time! Thanks again, Sue |
