Hazel, it takes time, Im still learning after 2 years. I remember spending months trying to find an unregistered birth of my GGF (1840) and someone on here casually said, why dont you see if the younger kids have been registered. One had and I got the cert and could move on!

If you are looking for the name of GGFx4 - buy your GGFx3 or GGMx3 birth or marriage certs which will be after 1837. Could you explain what you actually have already.

No reg only began in 1837 for anything that far back you will need the parish reg. Germaine x

Hi Hazel, you will need parish records for any cert before 1837, any cert after 1837 you can order...have you looked on the igi website?hope this helps kim

can anyone tell me if the birth certsgo back to 1826 as i need to find my 4 times grandfather name hazel.
