I dont believe it been very busy today, and what do I find I come on here and see messages about 1841 and think someone is winding me up, no email from Ancestry in spite of signing up for it, I am furious.But more to the point is it good ???? |

Only if your rellies didn't move about lol There are the usual mis-transcriptions, but I think it's ok. It DOES have Yorkshire, which is a bonus for me as that's where pretty much all my rellies are from :) |

Found mine - just sat there, boring devils, but can't find my friends Angelina Shrimpton born 1825, got her marriage in 1845, but not on the 1841 census and with a name like that how can you go missing??? Joanne |

Val, theres a lot missing, Ive got a feeling its a trial run - thats why we didnt get emails or announcments. I hope so anyway as my lot seem to be awol on there. Me too - on the rare occasion I leave home to get me highlights done it appeared |

I think they were planning to launch it properly this weekend at the London Family History Fair, but have put it online quietly. I'd say its like the other censuses, in that some folk are easy to find, some require a bit of work and some aren't going to appear at all. It has less info, though I've found a whole branch of my family all working as tailors, which makes a refreshing change from the usual ag labs. The ages seem rather skewiff to me too - even taking into account rounding up/down. nell |
