Isn't it just wonderful when you find someone on the census with their Grandparents?? I just found a child (that I didn't kow existed till just now) with her Grandmother in 1851. That's taken me back to 1785 in one foul swoop lol

Yes, or sometimes with their inlaws, or aunty - you never know where the links will come. I found out when checking the electoral rolls that the man my gt gt aunt Emily married was living next door to her brother. When I checked him out on the census, there he was - with his son Frank, who married a niece of Emily's! I knew there were two Evans who had married into the family, but didn't know if or how they were related. It was also exciting when I got Emily's brother's wedding cert as one of the witnesses seemed familiar. Sure enough, he's on the census in 1881 with my ancestor- as a visitor. They were clearly best mates at school and I guess he was best man when my gt grandfather married. nell

Yes Nell. I love finding people who are related, but not parents. Adds a whole new piece to the puzzle usually :)
