As a regular reader of the message boards, I am always willing to try and help any member having difficulties in tracing their ancestors on the various censuses. However, it would seem, judging by the replies, that members are not giving all the information they hold which could help me [and others] find their elusive ancestors. The common replies are 'I should have mentioned his father was called.....Jimmy Bloggs' or 'I should have mentioned he was born at Bradford'.......the list goes on, and on - you only have to read some of the responses to get the drift. Genereunited is a great site, and the message boards are a wonderful tool enabling those 'stuck' to get help from fellow members - like myself. So, PLEASE give as much info as you can at the start - this will eliminate all those replies that have no connection - plus, it will help help those members doing the look-up - this can only result in a better 'score' rate for those requesting the help. True Dave, sometimes you feel you are trying to get blood from a stone when you have to ask fundamental questions about their rellies over and over again.
