Icons that go walkabout?

Can someone please tell me why two of the icons underneath my tool bar keep up and disappearing? The figure under the IM sign and the two people under the People sign, just keep going walkabout whenever it suits. They never used to do this....it's been happening for some time now though, and it is worrying when you don't know why? Jen

Jen, could it be spyware, or maybe your browser needs updating...

Margaret. Your browser is the program used for looking at the internet. most people use Internet Explorer. Check you have the latest version, and if not, update it by downloading it. Outlook is your email program. T x

Teresa I'm not sure what this means unless it's to do with the update messages I get ocassionally? I do update with some of them but not all.......should I be doing them all then? Jen

Jen, if you have spyware, anti virus, adware or a firewall, you do need to update these regularly. Yes you are right to get updates for internet explorer. Even Microsoft have to correct thier mistakes as they find them.

You could have 'Hide inactive icons' selected. Icons will be hidden if the program is not used in a set time. Check in Start - Settings - Taskbar & Start Menu - Task Bar - hide Inactive Icons If it's ticked icons will appear and disappear at different times, I untick it as I find it annoying Fred
