Beverley I suggest you put Scotland in your thread title to catch the attention of others who can help. nell |

hi Helen I have given a look there as well. The roots site and the family research site. I am hoping someone out there has come across something like this and can give me an idea that I haven't thought of before or a link. Bev |

Before bmds and censuses you generally rely on parish records. I think there are some Scottish ones on www.familysearch.org but don't know much about Scottish genealogy. nell |

I am in Canada and trying so hard to find the family that came from Scotland to Canada around 1837 to 1838. Here is what I have Andrew Young b: 1780 Scotland married Mary ? (unknown maiden) b: 1805ish Children: Hugh b: 1827 Scotland John b: 1831 or 1836 Agnes: b 1832 and perhaps Margaret b: 1834. There are more children but they are all born here in Canada. I know that the birth places are Scotland and that is it. On wedding cet. and death cert. as well as census that is all the family writes no location just Scotland. Any help or ideas would be great.
