Sub-districts : Belgrave; Hanover Square; Knightsbridge; Mayfair; Mayfair and Knightsbridge; St. John; St. Margaret; St. Margaret and St. John; Victoria; Westminster St. John; Westminster St. Margaret. GRO volumes : I (1837-51); 1a (1852-1930). Parishes in Middlesex (1837-89) & London (1889-1930): St. George Hanover Square, Westminster St. John (from 1868), Westminster St. Margaret (from 1868), Westminster St. Peter (from 1868). St Georges Church was in Hanover Square but the Regn district is much bigger than just the Square. :-) Keith

I see an awful lot of people on the census returns as living in 'District: St George Hanover Square' Was/is Hanover square huge? Theres so many I have even thought of saving them so they are grouped together lol Sorry to appear dumb but I was once a blond! lol Gerri.
