Hi Robyne I've checked the 1841 Census for Heaton, Northumberland and Hetton, Durham and not found your family. From the births of the children Thomas and family appear to have been in Gateshead in 1851, but like you I've not been able to find them. The 1841 Census Index at www*durhamrecordsonline*com is complete for Durham - you may want to take a look. Sorry there's nothing more positive! Regards Helen K

Hi Helen apologies for not getting back to you sooner i had to visit the family! I cant find them in 1851, until 1861 when Thomas is married so it might cause you problems and be too difficult. All i know is Thomas Elliott born c1826 a blacksmith, father William also a blacksmith as listed on Thomas' marriage cert in 1853. Thomas appears to give his birthplace as Hetton/Heaton in later census'. Thanks for the offer, If its just too difficult please dont worry.

Hi Robyne Who are you looking for and where? There is no Surname or Street Index so the more info you can give me the better the chance of success. Include if you can the details of your family in 1851. Regards Helen K
