Sorry Pamela - You haven´t caused offence and please accept my apologies if that was the way my message came over. I have seen quite a few threads from you asking for advice - and nothing wrong with that - but I get the impression you have just started trying to trace your tree. You will find that any question you pose on these boards is answered very quickly - you will also realise after a while that the advice given is usually of the highest quality. Once you have received the certificate then let us know the parents details and we will see what we can do to trace a marriage. Enjoy your research - it is a very time consuming but thoroughly enjoyable and addictive hobby. Elaine |

Pamela I don´t want to sound rude but if you ask for advice then you must listen to what people say. There is really nothing else anyone can find out for you until you have ordered - and received - the birth certificate. This will give the mother´s maiden name - we can then start to look for the parents marriage. Elaine |

You dont need to struggle- what you need to do is send for her birth cert - that will tell you her mother name, and her mothers maiden name, which we THINK is Churm it may have been her second marriage, and she may have married as something other than Churm. (if i had a child tommorow he would be say, John green, as my husband is Mr green. it would also say that my maiden name was Brown, the fact that i married and divorced mr Black and Mr yellow in the meantime, hence i married mr Green when i was Mrs yellow, not Miss Brown) |

Do you know when Thelma was born? You need to find her birth registration which will tell you the maiden surname of her mother. This name should help you to trace the marriage of her parents. To go back further you will need her father's birth cert which will give you his parents names. You would then need to look for their marriage. Depending on whether his parents were married or not by 1901 you might find them on the 1901 census as a couple or not. Merry |
