Does any body know if inthe 1880s you would have needed a birth cert to get married. I think you do now. Gill

Yes Jess been in it for abt 5years. grt grandad Shenton wasn't born he married and he died but wasn't born. Have him on 1871-81-91-01 census his marridge and his death, his two older brothers that didn't survive but not him. Gill

I think you might have needed proof of baptism. Hilary
