Ancestry is BEST but FREE BMD, Family History Online and Family Search have their place too! Cheers, Horatia

Adding to this. Can anyone tell me if you mean Ancestry(.)com or just join the UK part. Also does anyone know about Australian info on Ancestry. Mine starts in Australia about 1850, but everything before that is English.

if the majority of your ancestors are from England - then definitely Ancestry. If they are from Ireland or Scotland then Ancestry won´t be of much help to you.

Barry I've only been doing this a couple of months myself, definatly recommend Ancestry...but above all sites this has to be the best for getting help & advice with researching your tree, there are so many on here only too willing to help. Good luck x

hello experts, i am a newbie to Genealogy, so would value your opinions on this subject. If you only had one choice of all the sites that you use to gain ancestral knowledge, what would that site be? all the best and Happy Easter........Barry.......
