I have spent a year looking for my g-grandmother Mary Ann Flower – I am still looking! She married Charles Arthur Strange 19th October 1885 at the Parish Church of Emmanuel Maida Hill. On marriage cert states she was 18 Spinster and her father was George Frederick Flower (deceased) Omnibus Conductor. I have future census i.e 1891/1901 for her but cannot pin point the right Mary Ann in past censuses, it has become a process of elimination. Today, I have come across this entry in 1871 Maryann Flower abt 1868 Marylebone, Middlesex, Granddaughter Kinson Dorset Harriette Morton abt 1826 Marylebone, Middlesex, Wife Kinson Dorset Kate Morton abt 1851 Marylebone, Middlesex Daughter Kinson Dorset William Morton abt 1822 Greenwich, Kent, Head Kinson Dorset RG10/1986 Folio 45 Page 21 I do not know if this is her at this moment it is just another possible. I am therefore trying to trace this family back to see if they could have a daughter that was married to a George or Frederick Flower, here I hit another problem. I have found William widowed living with Daur Kate in 1881. Before that (1861/1851) I cannot find him, Kate or Harriette. If anyone can spare the time can you have a look, sometimes a fresh pair of eyes makes all the difference. Thanks Yvonne |

Do her ages add up in later census ? ie - do you believe she was 18 when she married ? who were the witnesses ( any family members?) |

Charles died in 1895 same year as my gran was born Mary Ann married John O'Sullivan (Sullivan) in 1897 They had two more daughters Mary and Annie In 1901 census Mary Ann was in the workhouse having given birth to a son John who was ill and subsequently died. All children were with John Sullivan in 1901 while she was in workhouse. I think she died in 1909 but have not confirmed this with death cert yet. |

Thanks for trying Elaine :-) I can't understand where the Morton's have gone. This is the 'Strangest' family. I am trying to complete my mother's family tree for her birthday in June she will be 84. I have all her strange family but the flower family is beating me. Have to go to work now will clock back into Gene's about 6pm and take another look. Thanks again |
