So many bright people out the and I need someone to hopefully shed some light. Seeking a marriage of SARAH MAYNARD to MORELLINI or MORELINE abt 1920. I can find nothing and have also tried Irish records as there was some suggestion in family Sarah may have been Irish. Their first born son in 1921 was not registerd and went through life for years with just a baptisim cert and no birth cert. He had to go through the courts to get a birth cert. On his baptisim cert it is written parents legally married. Sarah and her husband had three more children and she sadly left the marital home and nothing is known of her after 1934. Her sons desperate to find out about their mother. Cant find a death cert either as don't know where she went or if changed name. Did not divorce. All we do know is that she had a sister Charlotte who married John Lewis and they and children lived in Wapping area of London 1930's. Sadly can't find a marriage for Charlotte and John either. Any suggestions please Thanks Heather

Where was their first son baptised? I'd start by going through the parish marriage registers. If they were married when he was baptised, I imagine the priest would know about it. nell

Thanks you so much for the response but tried that tack but no luck with the parish records. This is my brother in laws mother and therefore not my side of the family but my sister has been in touch with the priest and obtained other records on the paternal side of the family but sadly no sign of a marriage.

Surely Sarah and Louis were married abroad - his name suggests Italy.

Thanks Paul but Louis was born here in UK in Chelsea his parents migrated here from Italy. He lived in Chelsea for a few years but most of his life in Stepney area.

Thanks so much Annette . You could be right here although I had found another likley match in Gloucestershire. Can't seem to find the family you have found on earlier census. No John bn abt 1860 in Chichester Gloucestershire. Looks like a mistake on 1901 census. What do you think

More likely Cirencester in Glos, do you think? Carol
