Thanks everyone! I have been accessing the free bmd part of Ancestry but it ask for a subscription for census (then comes up with a blank screen when I want to pay!) I will try the other site you suggest. Thanks again Joanna |

its free on ancestry at the moment. you cannot view image on familysearch.org you only see the transcription Roy |

The 1881 census can be viewed for free on www.familysearch.org. Be aware that there are many transcription errors that I have found so don't give up! |

Are there any sites which allow you to view the 1881 census for free are do they all ask for a fee? Thanks Joanna |
