on the 1881 census she is down as being born in West India. I know her children were (above) all born there as well, and her dad and husband both had something to do with the army. I have loked at those but cannot see anything.

You then need to view each of them to see if there is a Janaway listed. I know that Reg - I was using that as an example of what a kind person drew from the overseas section regarding a different query. I am now looking for another birth in 1852 - and have searched all the pages but cannot see it. Is there an index because it looks as though the person has just drawn the info from an index.

Hi Tom I take it you've reached the 'search' part of the Overseas section and put in the surname and year(s) you're looking for? (The links to that are on the home page next to the Birth Marriages Deaths) When you've got your list up after searching you need to click on 'View' to see the actual page image with the names you might be looking for.
