I want to look up some parish records for Farringdon Berkshire where a lot of ancestors originated. However county borders shifted and I think its now classed as Oxford shire. On most of census records place of birth given as Berks.Should I look at Oxford parishes or Berks? On ancestral villages Farringdon apparently only exists in Oxfordshire. Confused!!! Thanks for any help. Sylvia. |

You'll probably need to look at whatever it used to be called, so probably Berkshire. Kath. x |

Contact the county records offices for both counties and see who has the parish registers. nell |
