On the birth certificate you have does it say SARAH ARCHER formerly Butcher or just Sarah Butcher? Sorry if asking the obvious but just trying to see if they were really married. |

Only by getting their birth certificates..... I have searched quite alot of the Sarah Butcher marriages and I can't find it either!! xx |

Hi John, Have searched 1859-1863 & agree no sign of marriage but didn't check all ARCHERs & BUTCHERs. William & Sarah may not be their registered names. If you look in '51, a William Archer is living at 15 Collier St with parents William & Caroline. HO107/1585 Folio: 48 Page: 29 Meanwhile a Sarah BUTCHER is living at 3 Collier St with her parents james & Sophia. HO107/1585 Folio: 47 Page: 27 Ages are a bit out but it seems too much of a coincidence for it not to be them. |

yes there for a few years had some more kids and then moved to rotherhithe and had more kids |

hi i need help been trying for weeks to find the marriage between william archer born 1841and sarah butcher born 1842 both born in deptford. have looked in the census 1861 and the are down as married and the first child born 1863. have tried loads of sites ancestry, bdm,1837, but can not find the cert. need this info to help me go back in my tree. regards john |
