On these message boards new members will read all about rude members, those who expect everything on a plate, and give nothing in return, those who never reply to your requests etc, etc....ignore them! I have just had a lucky break - a fellow member contacted me, and we found a connection which resulted in him sending me 18 family photographs that I had never seen before. I responded, and sent him another 15 [different] photographs he had never seen. Then, I sent his photograpghs to another member - who send me a CD with another 16 photographs. So, I ended up with 49 pictures of my ancestors - Great! Your 'lucky break' will come! I find the Message Boards excellent for obtaining help and advice from members who REALLY do care - thay have never let me down - whatever, I have asked of them - there is always several members who will give you all the help they can.......its like having thousands of friends out there. In a few days I shall be renewing my membership to what I consider to be the very best web site for Family History. David

It's great when you get a link and actually get photo ect isn't it. I actually met my third cousin on here~ never knew of her before..but now we are great friends and meet up and go for lunch ect.. So not only did I get more info about ancestors on my tree I also got a relative who is lovely and has given me pics of my grandma as a child Great thing is my mum had never seen these pics of her mum so that was nice !! Zoe
