I'm looking for a birth. This woman says she was born in Bixley in 1852 on all censuses. I've looked through Ancestry and the only name that matches is one born in the right year in Henstead. Now, my question is - Are these places close enough to be one and the same? I've looked at current maps & Henstead fits for the rest of the family group - The Old maps site is off line at the moment and I can't find Bixley on the current ones (though there are a number of road names in suffolk with 'Bixley' in them) Would appreciate any help as this woman is driving me mad - she was brought up by her (prob. maternal) grandparents (well, can't find her on census with anyone else) so I'm really going to need to order her cert to find her parents. Thanks in advance Sarah :-) |

Bixley registers in Henstead. So the one you found could be the right one. Rose |
