any way other than parish church of getting ,info on a mariage of 1836 ?

Don't think so. Have you looked on www.familysearch.org? Before 1st July 1837 there was no civil registration, so the only marriage record would be in the church {or possibly synagogue}. Do you have the names of the couple? Have you looked on Boyds/Pallots/familyhistory online? nell

If you know which parish then you can order the records on film from your local LDS Family History Centre for a couple of pounds. You can get the address of your nearest centre from the LDS site:- www.familysearch.org Or, if you get in touch with the Family History Society for the county where the marriage took place, they might have transcribed the records for that parish.
