Thanks Heather Positive Thinker. I'm going to try all suggestions now - we had friends to dinner last night and got really busy! Bernie |

Do you have an icon in the little tray down at the right side of your puter screen for your antivius? If so, click on it and a panel should come up where you can switch it off. |

Thank you for your replies. I had e-mailed symantec but they said it could be a few hours and as it is holiday weekend I wondered if I would hear today! I will try Heather's suggestion meantime. Many, many thanks, Bernie |

Hi Bernie Try going to 'Start' then click 'Control Panel' click 'Security Centre' You should see Virus protection there. Click to turn off. Don't go on line while it's off, or forget to turn it back on! Hope this helps Heather |

I am trying to install a new printer, have inserted instruction CD; the first thing it says is 'Please disable any antivirus software before continuing this installation'. I have no idea what to do. The photo printer is all set up and rearing to go copying old family portraits and I am totally bewildered! Does anyone know how I disable my symantec antivirus software, please. Bernie |
