Thanks Nell, Im pretty sure it must be them, right name, right road, right place - would be interesting to see what they were up to at that time. I know GGFx3 suddenly decided to stop being a lighterman and become a stationer - interesting change of occupation in his fifties.

Heather I don't think it means they lived at both addresses, just that they owned them and insured them against fire. a2a.org has a lot of insurance documents on their index and I think they are at the Guildhall. nell

I'm afraid I got it more because it was available than anything else - and I love original documents! It tells you what was insured, by whom (with their occupation), and its insured value. Real estate, for instance, is described by its address and anything else to define it. Christine

So Chris, you think the original would be worth getting - that it would have more detail about whatever the premise was that the Hansons appear to have had in Shakespeare Walk. Ill add the reference to my familytreemaker. Many thanks - wasnt sure if that would be it - just a mench of the name.

At a guess, I'd say the relevant documents are held at the Guildhall Library? - Wherever it is, there'll be a link so that you can find out more about how to get hold of a copy. What you can get in this case (probably) is a copy of the insurance record for their property. I was able to obtain copies of my husband's Gx3-g-father's Sun Insurance records for his property in London. Christine

Doing a vague search for the Hansons (cabinet makers/lightermen/stationers) on NA using their name plus the name of streets given on baptisms in early 1800. Came up with the following result:
