After months of chasing a line of Blandfords incorrectly I now know there was another son that is more likely to tie up with the info I already have (going backwards from my mother). However, I can only pick him up from 1851 - he was a mariner. Any advice? I have spent weeks chasing what appear to be cousind rather than a direct line!

William Johnson Blandford born 1800 in Redbridge Hants , died 1879 in Corbridge. In 1851 he was living in North Shields with a Jane Blandford (?) and was a mariner/sailor. I have the following info from relatives going backwards: william blandford father of henry blandford father of william blandford father of george blandford 1914-2003 (born Morpeth) George moved down with William to Thorne, South Yorkshire. I can't tie them together. Any help much appreciated.
