Yes, I thought they were beautiful memorials to such brave people. I was thinking that there may be descendents of these people on GR who do not know that these plaques are hidden away in that tiny little park in the City, and would be lovely if even one person recognises a name, wouldn't it?

what a lovely website, alas none of my relatives on this site, but family history tells of Elizabeth Savage nee Wallis cause of death Shock and Exhausion from upsetting lamp and clothes catching fire she was born in 1824 and died possibly 1842! (not sure of year)

I stumbled across this today and thought it might prove useful to someone on here - you never know - there could be someone's ancestor mentioned among these brave people... http://www*thejoyofshards*co*uk/london/tiles/ppark/index.shtml Copy and paste that into your search bar (replace the asterisks with full stops). There are 4 pages of photos and text. Even though none of those mentioned on the 4 pages relate to my tree, it made interesting reading.
