Hi I'm trying to trace a death cert for my grandmothers brother, who I didn't know existed until a few weeks ago - neither my grandmother or great aunt ever mentioned his existance to me whilst they were alive, but found him on a census and have been wondering ever since. Spoke to a second cousin at the weekend, and now know that he died before my great aunt was born - this means that, according to the census he was born in 1900, the great aunt was born 1908, so he must have died before then. The problem I have is trying a death and birth entry together. Think I have the birth 'George' without a middle name, and no other initial is shown on the census - but the only deaths I can find have a 'middle' name as well. I am happy to order the certs, but wonder if the names of the parents would automatically be given on the death cert for such a small child, or whether only if they were the informant? any info gratefully received. Thanks Looby |

Thanks Tom You're a star, as I said I don't mind spending a bit of money to find out, but if the chances are I still wouldn't be able to confirm who he is there doesn't really seem to be any point. Will start with the most likely one and work from there. Thanks again looby |
