Can anyone offer any advice as to how I go about trying to find out if a reli is still alive in Australia. I have today downloaded the death cert/notice of a gg uncle who emigrated to Victoria Australia. On the cert/notice is the name of his only child a son with exactly the same name as him, in 1984 he was 57 so he would now be 79. I would really like to try & see if he or any of his children if he has any are still alive as when my g gran died (his aunt) within days of his father the families lost touch that was 22 years ago!! |

Clare another suggestion In Victoria the bmd reg is a bit like Scotlands People - you have to buy credits AUD$10 (which is about 4pound) and it costs 1 unit -99cents (about 35pence) to view the index - you can download the image of the register also. It covers births 1853 - 1924 Marriages 1853 - 1945 Deaths 1853 - 1985 The addy is www*onlinejustice*vic*gov*au/servlet/IdxSearch? If you think they might have gone interstate the NSW reg is free to view the index and gives the parents names etc you can get it on following addy www*bdm*nsw*gov*au That might be of help to you cheers Laurie PS . . . on both sites follow the 'historical family names search' prompts - |
