Hi My Great Uncle Frank Spencer married Sarah elizabeth Stevenson she was 24 years old in Nantwich cheshire in May 1915. i have a copy of the marriage Certificate her fathers name was Zachariah Stevenson Occ Gamekeeper. Frank got killed during WW1 in France in October of the same year. On the CWGC he is listed as husband of Sarah elizabeth Spencer of 71 St Kilda St Belfast son of Edwin and Elizabeth Spencer of Burland Nantwich cheshire. I have managed to find all of Franks Family going back for years and years. but no trace of Sarah. I then found the army records of Franks elder brother Ellis who also got killed in WW1 but in 1917 .I sent for a copy of them and Ellis left all his wordly possions to Franks widow Sarah at 71 St Kilda St Belfast. So i know she lived in Belfast between 1915 and 1917. Anybody have any idea of where she could have been born, I'm thinking Belfast but ifs thats the case how did she meet Frank and how the h**l do I get a copy of her birth certificate. Anybody help me please!!!!!! Cheryl

I googled and found this: http://archiver.rootsweb(.)com/th/read/FERMANAGH-GOLD/2003-03/1047367845 (remove brackets from the address) The name is right AND he is a gamekeeper. Unfortunately, I don't know the first thing about Irish research. Good luck!

Hi Suzy I had seen that one but I'm sure thats not her as you say the age and the area is way out. Also the Zacchariah is not a Gamekeeper. But thanks for trying I really appreciate it cheryl

If her age at marriage is correct then that would give a birth year of 1890/1891. The only Sarah Elizabeth I can find born at this time in England or Wales is this one:- Sarah Elizabeth Stevenson June qtr. 1890, Derby, 7b, 492 (page number is not clear) Since you know her father's name you could order the certificate and give Zachariah as a checking point, so they don't issue the certificate if it's the wrong one. Not too much distance between Derby and Nantwich for it to be impossible. Kath. x
