I have a tree on this site which is impossible to see in it`s entirity, I know nothing about computers. What does PAF<LDS and gedcom mean? should I start going to computer classes before I do any more researching? Thank you for any advice, Sylvia. |

Well - have downloaded the PAF file from the LDS site but it looks very complicated so am just writing this so I can refer to it again when I feel a bit better. In the meantime if there's anyone there who can tell me in words of one syllable -------------- !!! |

The LDS PAF file is great. I've looked at other programs and the LDS one does every thing the others claim to do. Toni |

Hi Sheila I use the PAF software that is free to download for the LDS site, just go to LDS and look for 'downloads' - really easy to use, ability to create gedcoms, which you can then import into other programmes if you need to. Good luck Looby |

Hi Having just read a thread regarding ways of collating infomation, and was wondering if anybody could point me in the direction of a good, cheap (if not free) computer program to collate my family history. Have lots of shareware disks but dont know where to start. Any ideas??? |
