Hello Christine, i have received what the Dutch call family pages on one iit gives my Grandmothers` names as Willemina Johanna Geertruida Frederiksen ~ i am hoping that i will also hear about her marriage. The family pages look like our censes pages ~couldn`t believe it ~ there was no charge for these. R.B.

Raggy Bear Are you sure of the letter-sequences in the bride's names? I think some may be transposed, and if anyone takes them as they are and uses a computer search, unless it has some kind of ''fuzzy'' feature, they may miss records which are actually there to be found. I suggest that the names might be (using lower-case where I've changed a bit)... WilhilMINA JOHANNA GerTRUDIA FREDRIKSEN The first name looks like a feminine version of Wilhelm (William) and the third name like a continental version of Gertrude. Having said all that, I'm well aware that people did sometimes opt for unexpected variants of names, so I could be completely wrong. Christine

I cannot remember offhand at the moment, without searching through my files, but there a number of helpful Dutch sites where you can ask for help, their records give heaps of information and for free! not only parents but grandparents are listed for marriages. First of all however, try this one (remove brackets) www(.)Genlias(.)nl although it comes up in Dutch, click on for the English translation. I was given great information about a gt aunt who had married a Dutchman, this board also gives links for other Dutch sources. If you cannot see them on there, just ask Google for help in finding links for message boards for The Netherlands/Holland etc, there are quite a number, and if you leave a message in English you will soon receive a reply (also in English) I found them very v ery helpful at looking up and finding lots of info for me most of their records are on line (unfortunately all in Dutch) but if you ask for help, someone will translate for you It is of better help when you ask, if you know where in Holland the people you are seeking were. Each area has their own records Much better than ours here Good luck with your search
